GNC Bioferm products are registered for use and marketed around the world since the early 1990's. In the EU Endofeed DC (E 1601) was the first non-phytase feed enzyme to achieve permanent approval for both broilers (April, 2003) and layers (December, 2004). Amylofeed is one of only three non-phytase feed enzymes with permanent EU approval for use in weaned piglets (E 1612, July, 2004). The EU regulatory standards are considered the most demanding in the world.

Endofeed DC (E 1601) layer hen approval is particularly noteworthy, because due to a change in the EU regulatory structure, the product was assessed twice for efficacy by independent experts appointed by the EU Commission (Scientific Committee on Animal Nutrition, active until 2003, as well as the European Food Safety Authority Panel on Feed Additives, active since 2003). To date, Endofeed DC is the only non-phytase feed enzyme that has achieved permanent approval in the EU for layers.

Hens fed Endofeed DC produced heavier eggs resulting in higher commercial egg classifications, and a premium price for quality.
